Fifteen random facts about me:

1. I was actually born into and spent the first 25 years of my life living in the Scotland Road area but survived.
2. I was arrogant enough to think that if I studied English effectivley in school I could teach myself any other subject.
3. My brother was my first photographic inspiration - he wasn't good but was prolific. He gave me a Polaroid and I sold it to pay another kid to teach me to ride a bicycle (then won a Kodak in Echo competition with an old pic he had shot). He left me a small record of my childhhood, thanks John X
4. I am humanistic in my politics; people matter and should be valued.
5. Seeing my mum experience a breakdown and psychiatric care in the 1970s inspired me in my choice of career.
6. I have a beautiful partner, five fabulous children and two lively granddaughters - I am a lucky man.
7. I play guitar, drums, harmonica and sang with a band called Whose Pigs Are These - we were fun!
8. I love it when people create something that cuts through the white noise and reaches my soul, sets me alight.
9. I think Shakespeare is the greatest writer in the world - kidnapped by snobs but of and for the people.
10. I love people, we intrigue me - faces, minds, voices, actions. I find humans fascinating... and rather lovely too.
11. I hate loss; too many go too early - Hendrix, Joplin, Hicks, Belushi, Lennon, Pheonix, Ledger, etc. It ain't fair.
12. Ignorance scares me.
13. They bulldozed my old school because it was riddled wth asbestos - they were the days.
14. Love the freedom of the digital era and modern technology - without which life would be fab-less.
15. I was a fat kid who learned forgiveness, left myself in Kirkdale to lose myself in love and never regretted it.
