1. I once ended a conversation with the Duke of Edinburgh prematurely because he couldn’t fathom my scouse accent.
2. I shook the hand of Bill Shankly.
3. I don’t like Mondays (tell me why?)
4. Favourite people – Churchill, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela – all freedom fighters.
5. I would rather stick forks in my bum than watch any ‘reality TV’

6. In my passport, where it says 'Nationality', instead of English, I would prefer to have 'Scouser' .
7. The only thing I won’t tolerate is intolerance.
8. My daughters get mad at me because I have an irritating habit of being into new music before they find it (discovered Elbow seven years before they latched onto them - ha).
9. I once hurried out of a shop in Las Vegas because I thought there was a robbery going on – only to find, when I got outside, that it wasn’t a robbery, it was Michael Jackson and his entourage walking into the shop.
10. I was one of the 32,000 who attended Liverpool’s first ever European Cup match against Reykjavik at Anfield in 1964.
11. I love to travel - it's a big world out there.
12. Current tastes in music – Afro Celt Sound System, Fleet Foxes, Sigur Ros, Rufus Wainwright, Pink Martini, The Go Team, Stars and Lemon Jelly.
13. I hate the current obsession with ‘celebrity’ – and the fairly low threshold for acceptance into this dubious status.
14. People who say ‘absolutely’ when they mean to say ‘yes’ tend to irritate me.
15. I am a consummate liar – and only some of the above is true. Maybe.
16. I struggle to stick to targets.
